Color picker
You can take advantage of Color Picker feature to make your web-to-print and dynamic imaging templates completely customizable. Assigning a color picker option to a variable image field lets users pick any solid fill color they want.

Example
Lets make a web banner with variable colors for text and background. To achieve this we’ll need to add variable image fields as backgrounds and PowerClips inside the variable text frames.
Note. PowerCliping variable image fields inside a text frame to make the text change colors is only a temporary solution. Text frames will be able to have a color picker assigned to them direclty very soon.
/
Draw shapes that cover the space of the text fields and backgrounds. We will use those shapes as fills.
Convert all the shapes to bitmaps and turn them into variable image fields.
/
/
PowerClip (Effects/Power Clip/ Place Inside Container) each shape inside its corresponding shape or text frame.
/
/
/
/
/
We now have all the shapes and texts of the template containing a variable image field inside them as a PowerClip.
Color picker
After you’ve uploaded the template in your catalog, click on Images link in the top menu.
/
Click Edit in the Field Settings section and assign the desired color picker to the field.
Note. The CMYK color picker may result in off-color previews since viewed on-screen.
Disable the File Upload and Internet image options to make the color picker the only option for the image field.
/
/
The user will see the color picker option and be able to pick a color for every field (text or shape) that has a variable image field PowerCliped inside it.

Gradients
Gradients of many types are easy to create using only one solid fill and combination of transparencies.
For example color of these buttons can be selected using the color picker, but the gradient will remain. Learn how in Chameleon Web Buttons article.
Color combinations
Using the color picker will let you turn your template into a completely customizable design where the users can assign any color scheme that they’re going for. This is a web banner template with different colors assigned to each of the fields, making the variations countless.

Try this dynamic imaging template.

Limitations
/
/
Keep in mind a few of our web-to-print limitations. The system detects variable fields up to 1 level inside a PowerClip. Therefore, you cannot PowerClip a variable image field inside an object that is PowerClipped inside another object.

I’m requesting for a flash demonstration on the topic. I just couldn’t do it with my CorelDRAW X3 with these instructions. Do I need X4?
