Colorful typography
Lets take advantage of the web-to-print Character formatting matching option and create a colorful typography template with the text letters going on top of each other.
Before you start
- Add a page frame (Layout/Page Setup/Add Page Frame). This will create a rectangular shape with the exact same size as the page size of your template and place it as a bottom layer.
- Input the dummy text and turn it into a variable web-to-print field.
Text frame
Character colors
Use CorelDRAW Text Tool (F8) to select and change the color of each letter in the dummy text frame.
Character spacing
Next we need to make the characters of the dummy text go over each other.
In the Spacing section of the docker, set a negative value (ex.-100%) in the Character field.
Transparency
Finally, we need to add some transparency to the dummy text frame. This will help make the text readable even though its characters are going on top of each other.
Select the dummy text frame, activate CorelDRAW’s Transparency Tool and assign a 50% uniform transparency to it with the Normal transparency operation.

All done!
Our web-to-print software can handle this effect easily! Upload the template into your catalog and test it.
