Conditional object removal
Some objects need to be removed from the your web-to-print template if some other elements are not present. E.g. a balloon should only show if there is text inside it.
A sample CDR file can be downloaded from your Sample Stationery catalog (go to Summary page).
A comic book style balloon should only be visible if the user inputs the text for it.

When the user inputs text for the contents of the balloon, both the balloon and the text are visible.

When the user doesn’t input the text for the balloon’s content, the balloon dissapears from the web to print template.

Group fields and conditional objects
To achieve this we need to group the shape (the balloon) with the text frame.
/
Open Object Manager (Window/Dockers/Object Manager), select the text and the object that forms the balloon and group them (Ctrl+G).
Variable images and text fields have the same effect – if no variable part is present within the group the entire group is removed.
Grouping can be nested several levels. If no variable data is provided for the entire group of groups the top group will be removed with all the child groups and objects.
