Generic PDF profile

07/01/2009

PDF files generated by our web-to-print software can have custom or generic PDF profile, depending on the product and account type.

Generic web-to-print PDF profile

Web-to-print PDF settings

Bitmap compression: best size/quality ratio, no compression

Preserve: preserve as many features as possible

Colour profile: separation is best for most printing types

Binary encoding: smaller size

Text to curves: to avoid font substitution

Cropmark excluded: not known if or how it will be trimmed

Native colour mode: all colours are preserved as in the template

Custom web-to-print PDF profiles

PDF settings depend on the design intentions, where and how it will be used. Designs held under printer accounts can have custom PDF profiles. Designs held under designer accounts get the generic PDF profile as it is not known how and where the design will be used.
