Output files generation

January 7th, 2009

ZetaPrints web-to-print system generates files of different types: CDR, PDF, JPEG, GIF and PNG. The type of files generated depends on the needs and product type.

Making a choice

Web to print templates belonging to printers have a choice of the file types for output generation. Templates belonging to designers get either CDR/PDF/JPEG/GIF/PNG set or CDR/PDF or CDR/JPEG/GIF/PNG set by default, depending on the product type.

Web to print output for banners

Banners are intended for viewing on screen only and have no physical dimentions other than pixels. They are generated as a set of CDR/JPEG/GIF/PNG of the same size as the banner, e.g. 200px x 200px.

Web to print output for other products

CDR files

CorelDRAW files are generated by default for all products. CDR files cannot be downloaded by users.

PDF files

PDF files are generated for printers, if checked on. You need to choose a PDF settings profile.

Templates placed under a designer account get this option checked on by default. Generic PDF profile applies.

JPEG files

Jpeg files are generated @300dpi for templates with 1 page only and if the page is smaller than 210mm x 210mm. The primary purpose of JPEG files is photo printing.

GIF/PNG files

Gif and Png files are generated @96dpi for templates with 1 page only and if the page is smaller than 210mm x 210mm. The primary purpose of Gif/Png files is viewing on screen.
