Reflected text

07/10/2008

Add a text reflection in your web-to-print templates and make the illusion like the text is standing on a glossy surface.

Web-to-print text reflection

Before you start

  • Add a page frame (Layout/Page Setup/Add Page Frame). This will create a rectangular shape with the exact same size as the paper size of your template and place it as a bottom layer.
  • Input the dummy text and assign it’s horizontal alignment
  • Turn the text into a variable web-to-print field

The result should be something similar to this.

Reflection transparency

Web-to-print interactive transparency toolSelect the mirrored text and use CorelDRAW’s Transparency tool to add a transparency effect by clicking on the top edge of the text and dragging downwards till you achieve the desired transparency.

All done!

Our web-to-print software can handle this effect easily! Upload the template into your catalog and test it.

Web-to-print lower case letters/

Note. Most fonts have parts of their lower case letters going lower than the rest which might compromise the reflection border. To avoid this, open the Field editor and change the letter’s case to Upper.
