You can turn an Artistic text or a Paragraph text frame into a variable field so the users can input their own text in your web-to-print template.

A sample CDR file can be downloaded from your Sample Stationery catalog (go to Summary page).

Example

To turn a text frame into a variable field you need to select the text frame, open Object Manager (Window/Dockers/Object Manager) and rename the object.

You have two options for renaming the object.

Option 1

web-to-print, text, field naming/

Renaming the object to # will instruct the system to take an input field name from the text inside the frame.

If the text inside the paragraph frame is “Full Name”, the system will take that text as the name for the input field in the input form.

Option 2

You can also manualy set the input field name by typing it as the object’s name inside Object Manager in CorelDRAW.

The name you set to the object inside Object Manager will show up as the name of the input field in the input form.

Note: You can always change the input field names from Field Editor on the site after you have uploaded the template. Read more about it here.
