Any text frame can be a variable input field for user input.

Example

Select the text frame you want to mark as a field.

Open Object Manager docker (Window/Dockers/Object Manager) click on the object, hold for a second and type in the field name. The input field name in the order form will appear exactly as you enter it here.

Note: You can always change the input field names from the Field Editor on the site after you have uploaded the template. Read more about the Field Editor.

Web-to-print software processing

The entire content of the text frame will be replaced with the user input. The formatting (alignment, colours, fonts, etc.) will remain the same as you set it in the web to print template file.

The entire text frame will be removed from the document if the user enters nothing into the field.
