User-friendly URLs and permalinks
Web-to-print catalogs and web-to-print templates can be accessed via permalinks with IDs and user friendly URLs. There is important difference between the two.
Permalinks with IDs
Permalinks is an abbreviation for Permanent Links.
E.g. http://orders.example.com/?page=template;TemplateID=DB4A9016-45CB-4D04-A8BD-C8C35F4BBFCA does not change for the lifetime of the web to print template. This link is not very user friendly because it is hard to spell and impossible to remember. Search engines treat this type of links as dynamic and do not always index them, specially when multiple IDs are involved.
User-friendly links
User-friendly links resemble the old style static content links. Search engines prefer them to other types of links.
E.g. http://orders.example.com/Business-Cards/Plumbers-Card.html
The structure of user-friendly web-to-print URLs can be
- http://domain-name/catalog-name/template-name.html
- http://domain-name/catalog-name
Only letters, digits, underscore and dash are included in the links, so they may not look exactly as the name of the web-to-print product.
User-friendly links are not generated by ZetaPrints when:
- a template was copied
- a catalog was copied
- the name contains non-Latin letters
- the catalog has no user-friendly link
- the product name is empty
Links may get random characters appended to them to avoid duplications. E.g. http://domain-name/catalog-name/template-name-72a.html
How to create user friendly links for copied products
New templates and catalogs created by copying / cloning existing web to print templates or catalogs do not get user friendly links created by default because they are expected to be renamed.

Go to Edit details page of the template or catalog, change its name if needed and click Save.

A user friendly link will be created.
When not to bother with user-friendly links
User friendly links can be ignored as such if the catalog is password protected and is to stay so.
Links page and embedding
Printer and designer accounts can access a linking page for every template clicking on Links in the template menu.
