Web-to-print template requirements
September 16th, 2009
Web-to-print templates are intended for printing purposes, rather than on-screen viewing. There are a few things to keep in mind when creating a template that will be printed.
When you want your CorelDRAW template file to be recognized as a web-to-print template, you’ll need to make sure that:
- You set the drawing units to anything but pixels (Ex. millimeters, inches, centimeters etc.)
- Use CMYK color space
Bleed area
Apart from the basic requirements, most printing templates also need a bleed area. The standard bleed size can vary from one printing company to the other but generally is 3mm (0.125 inches).
Image quality
Image placeholders in web-to-print templates should have high resolution of 300 DPI or more for quality output.
